Visit North Hill

We welcome visitors to the club to come and watch or participate in the activities on the airfield.

Being an active airfield, safety is our number one priority. When on-site we ask you to follow our guidance and instruction. If you have any questions or concerns about visiting an active airfield please contact us by message, or call us on one of the numbers below.

Whether you are passing by on the bridleway, coming to see what we can offer, for your First Flight with us, or you are a visiting pilot, you are more than welcome!

We’re very easy to find! For directions to North Hill, you can either click on the “View larger map” link on the Google map below, and click on “Directions” on the map, or click the following link if you use What3Words and this will bring you to the entrance to the club.

The plan below shows where to go when you arrive. On entering the airfield, please stay on the black track.  The green areas are active airfield – gliders and powered aircraft may be operating at any time.  Before you have a site briefing you must not leave the access road.  Follow the black line until you reach the parking area.  When you are safely parked, come into the Clubhouse and let someone know you’ve arrived.

The bridleway is the only part of the airfield useable by the public.  You are welcome to walk along the Bridleway.

If you have come for a first flight, you will have a safety briefing before your flight, and will be accompanied by a club member at all times. Aircraft can and regularly do approach to land from any direction and will be (quietly!) travelling well in excess of 60mph, and we want all our visitors to be safe.

We are very proud that large areas of our airfield are recognised as consevation areas, including one which is within the active airfield, so we would ask that unless you are accompanied, you stay safely to the bridleway
